7 Types of Commercial Interiors

Commercial interiors can be found everywhere you look, from the inside of your local health club to the swanky décor found in your favourite nightclub. All commercial interiors are designed to serve business purposes. If the one of the goals of the nightclub is to offer patrons an intimate atmosphere, the interior of the club needs to reflect this. This could mean strategically blocking out natural light or placing partitions around the club in a way that allows smaller groups to be segregated. 

There are seven main types of commercial interiors, they are as follows:

1 – Corporate & Executive Offices


These can be classified as being any professional or financial institution. Examples of such commercial interiors include law firms, real estate firms, travel agencies, investment companies, etc.


2 – Healthcare Facilities


These can be classified as being any business that offers a health service to the public. Examples of such commercial interiors include medical labs, veterinary clinics, health clubs, dentist offices, retirement homes, etc.


3 – Entertainment & Hospitality Facilities

 

 

These can be classified as being any business that offers an entertainment or hospitality service to the public. Examples of such commercial interiors include amusement parks, hotels, sports stadiums, nightclubs, museums, etc.
 

4 – Retail & Merchandising Stores

 

These can be classified as being any business that offers a retail or merchandise service to the public. Examples of such commercial interiors include department stores, galleries, car showrooms, malls, shopping centres, etc.

5 – Institutional Facilities

These can be classified as being any institution that serves a purpose in society. Examples of such commercial interiors include schools, police stations, prisons, churches, day-care centres, etc.


6 – Industrial Facilities


These can be classified as being any industrial or manufacturing facility. Examples of such commercial interiors include laboratories, power plants, training facilities, etc.


7 – Transportation Facilities

These can be classified as being facility offering transportation services to the public. Examples of such commercial interiors train stations, airports, bus terminals, recreational vehicles, yachts, etc
